The Clinic is Now Open and is Accepting Referrals
What We Offer:
Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is a non-invasive treatment that uses magnetic brain stimulation to treat major depressive disorder and several other psychiatric conditions. It does not require anaesthetics, or special preparation, takes 10-20 minutes per treatment session, and is done on an outpatient basis.
How the clinic works:
A medical doctor or nurse practitioner can refer you for assessment to determine whether you might benefit from rTMS and if it is safe for you. rTMS is Health Canada approved for treatment of major depressive disorder and is used as a treatment for several other psychiatric and chronic pain conditions.
If your condition is assessed as one which would potentially benefit from rTMS treatment, the procedure and risks will be discussed and if you wish to proceed, you will be set up for a course of treatment which commonly involves 10-20 minute treatment sessions five days per week for one month.
During your treatment, you receive periodic check-ins by clinicians to ensure you are tolerating the treatment. Our clinicians will also assist your physician in monitoring your response to treatment and in some cases may make recommendations for further treatment.
